Celebrating the vibrant colours and intricate compositions of his first digital artwork, discover a limited edition series by renowned abstract painter, Sir Frank Bowling.

This exclusive collection features two seminal Map Paintings—'Texas Louise' (1971) and 'Australia to Africa' (1969-70)—brought together to create Bowling's first ever digital artwork. Commissioned by CIRCA to celebrate the 70-year anniversary of his arrival in London from British Guiana in 1953, Arrival (2023) pays homage to Bowling's profound artistic journey and cultural impact. Reflecting on the project which appeared on notable public screens around the world, Bowling reminisces, "It was a pleasure to collaborate with CIRCA in creating my first digital artwork. It shows two of my Map Paintings flowing together. It’s a whole world thing – 70 years in the making.”

A pioneer of abstract art, Bowling has spent over six decades pushing the boundaries of paint and colour. His 'map paintings,' created between 1967 and 1971, challenge conventional cartography by overlaying fields of colour with stencilled maps of the world and silkscreened images. Through his innovative techniques, Bowling explores themes of identity, geopolitics, and displacement, inviting viewers to reconsider their perception of the world.

Immerse themselves in the beauty and complexity of one of the world’s greatest living abstract painters. Choose between the complete set of two (£300 +VAT) or an individual print (£200 +VAT) from the drop-down menu below.
